Dave

The veteran of the outfit, Dave had been playing in bands since the late 1950's. He started playing piano at the age of 7 and by the time he was 16 joined his first band DEAN SHERWOOD & THE STROLLERS playing rhythm guitar. This morphed into THE KYLASTRONS who went on to play the famous 2 I's Coffee Bar in Soho London and the Top Ten Club in Hamburg Germany in February 1963 (see photos at www.vintagesixtieslive.co.uk/Kylastrons.html ). Some of the local bands that Dave subsequently played keyboards with included ROCKHOUSE, NO TIME FOR JIVE, ANIMALS 2 and RAY STUBBS R & B ALLSTARS. He  also had the thrill of working on stage with numerous vintage Rock 'n' Roll stars such as VINCE TAYLOR, TERRY DENE, WANDA JACKSON, Sun Records recording artist BILLY LEE RILEY, CHARLIE GRACIE and BILL HALEY'S COMETS.

Among Dave's favourite piano players were Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Johnson and Otis Spann. He played on a Roland RD500 piano and a Roland VK7 organ. Both amplified by a Carlsboro Marlin 6 - 300W amp into a hand built cabinet fitted with 2 x 12in Eminence speakers.

Boogie Boy Dave's on-going philosophy in the band was .........BOP 'TIL YOU DROP!
